Funny grandma

My family has been visiting, and so we’ve all spent some time together with my grandmother the last couple days. It’s funny — sometimes she tunes out a little bit when she can’t follow the conversation — but then occasionally she just says something hilarious. When we were having dinner the other night, I found myself looking over at her and noticing how similar her face is to mine. I couldn’t say specifically what features, but somehow the curves of her face reminded me of those of my own. So anyway, I mentioned something to her about how her face was like mine, and she said, “what — you mean beautiful?” Naturally, I agreed with her.

Then later, as we were leaving for the night, my brother and I both gave her a hug, and after we had been hugged and kissed on the cheek, she exclaimed, “oh, I just love kissing lots of boys!”

I think what’s great about it is the unselfconscious way she says these things.  When I’m older, I hope to keep people on their toes as much as she does.
