I mean, this is not to say that I don’t appreciate the grandeur of the old logo, but let’s not lose sight of the fact that all we really did is turn off caps lock.
What interests me here is that a big portion of the backlash at the new logo is, I think, simply resistance to change. It calls to mind the way in which I become very attached to the first recording I hear of a piece of music, and I immediately hate all others at first listen.
The new logo may be good, or it may be bad, or it may just be different. The fact that we hate it at first doesn’t really say anything one way or another.
